1. What species of logs do you use?
We use Douglas fir, western red cedar, yellow cedar, engleman spruce & lodge pole pine.

2. Do you build the homes or just sell the package?
Farrell Log Structures is a licensed general contractor that specializes in full turnkey construction and/or dry- in only shells.

3. What is your cost per square foot to build our house?
Farrell Log Structures designs and builds each project according to the requests of the owners. Custom, handcrafted log construction will most likely cost more than conventional construction. Because it is custom and each house is unique it is very difficult to give a square foot price. The price per square foot can vary greatly depending on the finishing details and also the site conditions where the house will be built.

4. Do you offer AIA/ design services?
Yes, we offer design with virtual reality to give a prospective client a good example of what their home will look like before construction begins.

5. Do you have homes in the area that we can visit?
Yes, we have homes in the area that are complete and also homes that are under construction that you can visit.

6. We live in another state but are building in NC, how can your company work with us to build our home?
Many of our clients live out of state. We use digital Jpeg pictures via email to show job progress. Also design decisions can be made via email.

7. How do we get started?
Call for an appointment to decide what type of log home will suit your needs, a design questionnaire is filled out and the process begins. We can begin by working off a rough sketch of your plan. A meeting at your job site is recommended to see if the plans you are thinking of will suit your building site.
